Over the Moon for this Newborn Session
I started my year off by photographing a little girl named Oakley. It was such a refreshing way to begin a new year that allowed me to use some new equipment and shoot artistically again.
As with all of my newborn sessions, I kick things off after the session is booked by sending the expecting parents a questionnaire. In this questionnaire, I ask many questions in regard to the pregnancy. Though, one of the most importation portions of the questionnaire is where I ask about their final gallery vision in more or less words. In this case it was requested that I incorporate the moon and stars in some fashion and that everything else was entirely up to me. WOOHOO! This isn't the first time I had been asked to do something in relation to the moon, though I had managed to get into this creative mindset in the last few months (finally back on track to my roots). I immediately began envisioning a starlit sky with baby on a moon.
